First pressing of the year done today, just a 5 gallon bin done (early days for apples, and its looking like a bleak harvest this season) but its a start!
Just placed an order for two 30ltr barrels, one chestnut (should sweeten the cider) and one oak (should oak-age the cider) which will be used post fermentation (and probably after a double racking) to enhance the flavour of some of this years Sider.
Unfortunately for reasons unknown Woodley Sider won’t be at the Reading Real Ale & Jazz Festival this year, so the fruit ciders from last years production won’t be available to enjoy!
Woodley Sider will be available at the Maidenhead Beer Festival on the 18th – 20th July, check out http://www.maidenheadbeerfest.org.uk for more details 🙂

There will be 4 Siders on offer at various points over the weekend. See previous posts for details.
Yesterday’s post was seen by over 500 people on Facebook, presumably by the power of sharing the status update…. With that in mind, there must be a few out that that would like to ‘Like’ the Woodley Sider FB page, go on you know you want to….
The remaining 5 bins and 3 demi-johns have been boxed/bottled today marking the end of the 2013 production.
It has got to be said that it has been epic!
Just some labelling to do now.
Seriously need to shift some of it now, any beer & cider festivals out there that might be interested in some Woodley Sider then drop me an email.
